Based out of Missoula Montana, The Good Neighbor Policy is an indie folk-rock explosion who prides themselves in making music for the everyday man. Shortly after busting onto the scene in mid 2006, The Good Neighbor Policy was opening for one of their idols, Magnolia Electric Co. and was playing to full houses. Even before their debut album Kill…The Good Neighbor Policy was publicly released, local radio stations were giving sneak peeks of the truth and beauty of the album to come. The members’ roots vary from the treeless landscape of Iceland, the wooded terrain of Oregon, the lush hills of Ireland, and the “not to be messed with” attitude of Texas. With Rob Mottram’s thundering bass, Bethany Joyce’s haunting cello, Pete Shanafelt’s pounding drums, James Palmer’s melodic piano, and Thomas Pendarvis’s vocals that voice the sound of reason, The Good Neighbor Policy has quickly become a local favorite.

Their debut album, Kill…The Good Neighbor Policy, is music that comes directly from the soul. Recorded, mixed and mastered with their label, Habbilis Records, Kill…The Good Neighbor Policy is an album that evokes the human spirit with the honesty and truth behind the haunting songwriting of Thomas Pendarvis and the winding melodies laid out by James Palmer on the piano. Known for their high-energy live performances, impromptu classical interludes, and soulful songwriting The Good Neighbor Policy might be new on the scene, but are a force to be reckoned with.
